A governance rating built from evidence, not self-attestation.

AIGR today announced the launch of Artificial Intelligence Governance Ratings, an independent ratings framework for evaluating the governance maturity of defined AI systems.

The AIGR approach is designed for organizations that need a clearer decision signal from complex governance requirements. Each assessment establishes scope, reviews owned and dated evidence, records reviewer determinations, identifies critical gates and produces a governed rating outcome.

The initial sector frameworks focus on real estate, health, finance and government, while maintaining a common evidence and review architecture across sectors.

Independence is part of the rating architecture.

AIGR is structured to separate commercial engagement, platform workflow and remediation support from the determination and approval of a rating opinion.

SCOPE

Every rating is tied to a defined entity, AI system, intended use, jurisdiction and evidence period.

EVIDENCE

Controls are supported by traceable artifacts with owners, dates and reviewer states.

GATES

Material failures can constrain a rating regardless of the aggregate governance score.

REVIEW

Rating decisions are documented, challengeable and subject to defined approval controls.

01

AI Governance Assessment

Defines assessment scope, tests evidence and identifies governance gaps and critical blockers.

02

AI Governance Platform

Maintains systems, controls, evidence, review states, approvals and monitoring in a governed record.

03

AI Governance Ratings

Translates governed review outcomes into an interpretable AIGR designation for a defined system and assessment period.

04

Sector Frameworks

Applies sector-specific controls while preserving a common evidence and rating architecture.

Designed for institutional use.

The methodology separates the AIGR Governance Score from the published rating designation, applies evidence-quality tests and uses critical-gate logic so severe governance failures are not hidden by stronger average performance.

AIGR ratings are governance opinions within a defined scope and methodology. They are not regulatory approvals, legal opinions, certifications, credit ratings or guarantees of system performance or safety.
